Air pressure testing is a way of quantifying the air leakage of a building. In Part L1A of the UK Building Regulations, Air Leakage Tests are referred to as Pressure Testing. In order to measure the air leakage of a building it is required to follow the instruction of ATTMA Technical Standard 1. This Technical Standard is based on BS EN Standard 13829:2001, Thermal Performance of Buildings - Determination of air permeability of buildings - Fan pressurisation method.

Air permeability tests take place during the construction process of development when the external envelope of the building (including external doors and windows) is complete.
